The Nurture Project

Horticultural Therapy Outreach Programme based in our sensory gardens

Show dates for all events

Wells Community Hospital Trust and The Nurture Project are launching, in partnership, a new gardening programme supporting adults living with mild to moderate mental ill health in February 2018. The Nurture Project aims to provide a year-round horticultural therapy outreach programme based at the Wells Community Hospital Trust, whereby supervised gardening can be used to promote adult mental and physical wellbeing in a safe and friendly environment. Wells Community Hospital Trust offers a wide range of flexible and integrated health and wellbeing services for the community it serves. Horticultural Therapy is an innovative and creative approach to helping people living with mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety or stress. The programme offers the opportunity of small group work in the beautiful gardens at Wells Community Hospital Trust. We will be operating with a recognised outcome model, which will allow our trained therapists to build a set of activities for each group member to improve their particular health needs, and to work on clear therapeutic goals. The new pilot programme commences on 27th Feb 2018 and will offer a variety of gardening experiences, as well as indoor horticultural activities. The programme will be accepting applications from December 2017, and prior gardening experience is not a requirement. For further information contact: Tel: 01328 711996 Email:
